High-Standard Animal Facilities and Animal Welfare

The animal facilities of WuXi AppTec DMPK are accredited by AAALAC (Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care) International, have independent veterinarian team, husbandry team and engineering team, all the members could response rapidly to emergencies to ensure animal health and welfare.

The animal facilities are equipped with an animal surgery suite, which is divided into pre-operative and post-operative areas. All the animals are housed in the dedicated animal holding room after operation. The professional and reasonable layout ensures that the operation and perioperative nursing are completed with high efficiency and quality.

The personnel, materials and animals entering the facilities are strictly passed by separated route, and each route has corresponding disinfection or sterilization procedures to reduce cross contamination. The temperature and humidity of the animal room are controlled within standard ranges by a computer system.
