For mRNA vaccines, mRNA therapeutics, and delivery systems, the substantial differences in their mechanisms of action and molecular types lead to distinct evaluation objectives and requirements for their preclinical pharmacokinetic (PK) studies. To address these specific needs, we’ve developed a range of strategies for preclinical PK evaluation of mRNA drugs, drawing on hands-on experience, cutting-edge literature, and guidelines. We also provide a detailed interpretation of the preclinical PK data of FDA-approved mRNA vaccines.
