There are increase demands in establishing the testing system to determine the release performance of various topical formulations, especially semi-solid forms for transdermal administration.

An In Vitro Release Testing (IVRT) method was developed and validated using Static Franz Cell System mounted with synthetic membranes to effectively evaluate the release properties of hydrocortisone from semi-solid topical products according to regulatory guidance.
