Posters Overview
Carboplatin((cis-diammine (1,1-cyclobutanedicar-boxylato)-platinum (II))) is a metal complex with an activity profile similar to cisplatin, but relative to cisplatin, the greatest advantage of carboplatin is its minor side effects, particularly the elimination of nephrotoxic effects. Nausea and vomiting are less severe and more easily controlled. It is used in a variety of chemotherapy regimens for solid tumors, such as lung, head, neck and ovarian carcinomas. It is used by injection into a vein. It interfered with gene transcription and DNA replication in vivo through interchain or intra-chain cross-linking with DNA, resulting in cell apoptosis.
